edition of the Smart Working Handbook has been
published, and was
launched at a reception at the UK Department for
Business, Innovation & Skills.
The new edition contains a number of changes:
- A single consolidated 'People' section,
bringing together flexible working practices,
culture change, management and training
- Updated sections on technology and
- A new section on Smart Working and wellbeing
- New and more detailed case studies
- New real-life photography showing Smart
Working in action.
first edition of the Smart Working Handbook has been enormously
influential in helping to shape the way that
many organisations work.
Business, public sector and
non-profit organisations are finding this
strategic and business-focused approach to
‘flexibility as normal’ is a powerful way to achieve
benefits for employers, employees and wider society.
The Handbook has been adopted or adapted by many
organisations as their internal guide to Smart
Working. Working with the Cabinet Office we have
also adapted it to become the UK central
government’s Guide for Smart Working in Government.
The approach has become a key plank in the
government’s Efficiency & Reform programme.
This new edition is supported by Plantronics,
Citrix, CMI Workplace, Saint-Gobain Ecophon,
Workplace Manager, and Vision29 – all companies with
great expertise in developing smarter working. And
many thanks to the Department for Business
Innovation & Skills who hosted the spendid
with additional support from Plantronics.
We hope you enjoy it and find it useful.
